About
CINELUX is a UK-based, independent company built by filmmakers and engineers who understand the realities of working on set. Our roots are in hands-on production — where time is limited, budgets are tight, and every piece of gear needs to perform without compromise.
Those experiences shape everything we create.
On set, equipment isn’t just equipment — it’s the difference between hitting the mark or missing it. We’ve seen firsthand how the right tools can unlock creativity, and how the wrong ones can slow everything down.
Too often, the ideal solution simply didn’t exist — or it was poorly executed, overpriced, or not built with real-world use in mind.
CINELUX exists to change that.
Vision
To push the boundaries of what’s possible with lenses and cinematography tools — rethinking, refining, and reimagining them for modern workflows, with the goal of unlocking entirely new ways to approach camera and lens systems.
Mission
To design and build versatile, robust, and thoughtfully engineered products that deliver exceptional performance — solving both common and complex challenges faced by filmmakers in the field.
Motivation
Our drive comes from a genuine passion for filmmaking and a deep fascination with cinema cameras and lenses. Through repairing, modifying, and building our own solutions, we discovered a new level of creative freedom — where experimentation, risk-taking, and problem-solving became just as exciting as the filmmaking itself.
That mindset continues to shape everything we do.
Every product we create is born from that same mix of curiosity, technical exploration, and real-world need — designed to unlock new possibilities on set.
Ethics
From the beginning, CINELUX has been built with the intention of making a positive impact — both on the industry and on the planet. Every product’s carbon footprint is offset by 150%, covering not just manufacturing and shipping, but also the design and development process.
We work with the not-for-profit initiative, My Carbon Plan, to measure and offset emissions as accurately as possible — ensuring sustainability is considered at every stage.
Packaging is designed with the same level of care as the products themselves. We prioritise paper-based materials, eco-friendly adhesives, and recyclable aluminium packaging where possible, alongside vegan, plant-based components wherever feasible.
CINELUX exists to make filmmaking better without compromise — for the creators using our tools, and for the environment we all share.
